Bigg's Big Adventure

Here's a movie compiled from photos and video taken by Big Wheel during his trips to AZ.

You'll see men in hard hats using a gigantic machine to fill bags with dirt, beisbol (including some old broad with a crazy voice), Alison, Wookie, Wookie, Grems, Biggs, futbol, Grems, gut Grems, gut, Grems, gut, Grems, gut, Grems... fade to black.

It was either do this tonight or watch the end of Top Gun on AMC with T-martin.

A Real Nice Surprise -- Update

Jackie has contacted the k-zoo court system. A check may be sent. If that's the case Bakkwell might be wearing some new jean-shorts this summer. Fingers are crossed.

Happy Day-After MLK Day

UPDATE, 10:44am: We've got water, a disposal, and dishwasher!

Hi. Quite a few things have happened since my last post. For one, another MLK day has come and gone although I did not bake a brownie cake -- maybe next year. I also lost the camera battery charger. Until I find it or buy a new one I won't have pictures.

Anyhoo, we got our countertops in and installed. We have begun cutting and installing toe-kicks and filler pieces. The plumber is here right now, plumbing. He's going to replace the old, stinky, dirty trap; hook up the sink, disposal, and dishwasher. (We have all of our plumbing needs taken care of by the Nelson Brothers.)

I am going to paint today. We have also picked out our tile back splash and will order it soon.

In lieu of kitchen photos I have posted pics from a carnival we went to in September, 2006. Mikey and Sammie had a real nice time.

A Real Nice Surprise

Remember when our house on Forbes got broken into? I got a check in the mail today from the County of Kalamazoo Finance Department/9th Circuit Court Restitution. Apparently that black/french/top-hat wearing breaking-and-enterer hasn't completely fulfilled his debt to society. I've hunted all over the web (OTIS and different K-zoo websites) to try to find records on the guy (his name is listed in the description field) but haven't found anything. The check is for $81.25.

I wonder if Jackie got one today. I know bol didn't. Only Jackie and I got checks at school. Sometimes they were for $25; other times for $7 or so. I guess it depended on how many shifts he worked at Wendy's.

Anyhoo, more than ten years later I get a check for $81.25. WTF? (and doesn't anyone like our new puppy? WTF?)

Much Success

After a few half-steps and short-strokes we successfully hung the microwave. It was a major bitch as no studs lined up with the template on which the micro is supposed to rest. So we were forced to take drastic action -- we cut holes in the wall and made our own studs. Mark and Maria were in town, so Mark was able to give us a hand. Bob Villa would have crapped his drawers.

To top it off I installed some of the under cabinet lights and Tanya finished installing the drawer fronts and hung the first door. It was a good day.

Peep this.

Happy 2008 -- Even More Progress at DeVillen

Happy New Year -- shout out to my brah' in Pensacola who is living large on the ocean, drinking beers with Lacoe (Lacroix!). More on Stairs later....

We are done installing cabinets. Next up -- install the microwave, paint, install the shelving and doors, finish the floor on the landing, and wait for the countertops (another week or two).

Here's a blazin' new video for the NEW YEAR! holla back.
